The AKS17 encoder supports the implementation of linear absolute measurement applications from 100mm up to 3m in length with a resolution below 1µm.
For rotary applications, diameters from 100mm up to 1m lead to a resolution of up to 24 bits. The high resolution allows to use magnetic encoders where other absolute measurement solutions are too expensive to implement. With this variability the AKS17 and its corresponding scales can be used in nearly any automation application where absolute measurement is necessary. The AKS17 is 28mm long, 16mm wide and 3.4 or 6.6mm high.
